If you are a PC gamer then no doubt you must have heard of the ultra-popular first-person shooter, Crossfire. It has been developed by South Korean developers. Crossfire is a free to play military FPS that has gone to become one of the most played first-person shooters in the world since it has been released.

It is no surprise that someone would bring the game to the console eventually. Microsoft is working with Smilegate Entertainment to do the same. It has been recently that the company announced CrossfireX. It is a brand new version of the game that will be released on Xbox exclusively in 2020. The game will be having all the features that console mode have but many more as well. To be most important, the game will get the first single-player campaign. It is being developed by the masters working at Remedy Entertainment.

Remedy has a long history of making story-driven games and hence you must be familiar with it. The same studio is responsible for Alan Wake, Max Payne, Quantum Break and the most recent genre-bending game is the Control. No doubt when it comes to delivering the tight stories taking on the military-focused first-person shooting, the studio is indeed a major force to be reckoned with.

Technical Art Director of the SMileGate, Jin Woo Jung is a fan of the work done at Remedy. Resources have shared that when the studio was thinking about who to be approached for the single player campaign, Remedy was the first choice indeed. Remedy jumped to be a part of one of the biggest games around the world. They did it even knowing the fact that it was a bit outside their comfort zone. The original Crossfire was released back in 2007. The developers worked really hard over the past twelve years to build their world and the characters in it. It actually left Remedy a lot behind the scenes lore to work with.

Crossfire is all about what you would expect from a military FPS. It features a couple of major functions, i.e. Black List and Global Risk. These are involved in a never ending war. The game has dozens of modes to play across several different maps. There are classic modes like free for all. The team Death match along with the crazier modes like Cops & Robots having single team of cops making efforts to uncover the robbers. The robbers are hidden among a team of bots. With you leveling up and earning in the game currency, several new weapons as well as equipment is unlocked to be brought in to the battle.

CrossfireX currently has been slated to be released sometime in the upcoming year i.e. September 2020 on Xbox one.
