Happy Independence Day, Moldova!!!

The present Doodle celebrates the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova.

On this day in 1991 in the capital city of Chisinau, the Eastern European republic was proclaimed a sovereign country after more than fifty years of Soviet standard.

Delineated in the Doodle fine art is the blue, yellow, and red tricolor flag of Moldova.

The flag was formally received in 1990, however the sources of its structures stretch back hundreds of years to the medieval times.

The coat of arms found at the flag’s middle highlights a hawk holding a brilliant sceptre in one claw and in the other an olive branch which speaks to harmony.

A shield that sits on the eagle’s bosom delineates the top of an auroch, an ancient wild ox that used to roam the European scene and today fills in as Moldova’s public image.
