Your child is probably working hard in school. Perhaps, he or she is the star student, or at the top of the class.

Children are definitely learning the skills necessary to get by in life.

That is great.

But what about other skills – life skills that will, later on, make the difference between average and excellent. Between mediocre and outstanding?

Let me ask you some questions:

Does your son or daughter have the skill of 100% commitment?
What about the skill of perseverance? Focus? Determination? How about the skill of mental strength? How much do they know about overcoming fear, setbacks, and dealing with failure?

These are vital skills that differentiate the best from the rest, and sadly, they are not taught in schools.

That’s why people only talk about those skills as a side note.

We never dare to question how or where those skills would come from and because of that we also don’t measure it.

I believe it might be worse, we are paralyzed – As adults, we know that those are the skills that can make you successful in life and in your career. When was the last time you ask yourself how you are holding up with those skills and what you are doing to improve or strengthen them? (Or are those skills less critical to you?)

Nothing…?

Are you ignoring those skills and hope that luck, chance or something else magically would bring them to us in the future?

I am sorry, but hope is not a strategy. I am not telling you this to guilt trip you into purchasing a service. I am just trying to make you understand that the future is best if you plan it.

So why not plan your success?

Why not taking active steps towards learning those skills? Why not encourage your son/daughter (or even yourself) to take proactive steps? Why not polish, strengthen and grow those skills together?

As said earlier, they won’t fall from the sky, and they are equally important to you as they are for your son/daughter.

So where can you go and what can you do?

My name is Sensei Marcus Hinschberger, and together with my wife Sensei Christina, we run Tokon Martial Arts. We teach traditional Shotokan Karate. A martial art with ancient principles derived from the samurai culture.

Traditional martial arts that have nothing to do with the brutal and bloody combat associated with MMA or cage fighting, instead they have their roots in self-development and self-cultivation.

With the help of your Sensei, you cultivate within yourself, skills such as perseverance, commitment, and determination. Once the spark is there, you keep self-developing.

Yes, your Sensei would help to guide you, but the emphasis must be on “self.” The knowledge and wisdom of your Sensei will determine when you will be taught the next lesson, but everything will generate within you, the student.

This maturity process will eventually not only lead you to higher self-esteem, more significant commitment, greater focus, greater perseverance but ultimately will also teach you how to request from using those skills when push comes to shove. You will become self-reliant.

A black belt holder can overcome anything because he has learned the tools of self-development and self-cultivation.

In Tokon Martial Arts, we create a high achiever atmosphere that will inspire the student not only to stay on track but to keep improving. We strengthen confidence and reduce fear, anxiety, and doubts.

We teach our students to excel, to improve and to overcome.

We have a friendly atmosphere that would help your kid create supportive and inspiring friendships that motivate excellence.

Every one of our students, as well as the instructors, work on our core principles that are combined in what we call the Dojo Kun:
• respect others
• be faithful
• seek perfection of character
• refrain from violent behavior
• endeavor to excel.

If you reach black belt level at Tokon Martial Arts, it means that you have done what most people will never do or accomplish. You will not only have a different outlook on life but have the tools to succeed in your career and make it take off.

If you want to make a wise decision for yourself, your son, your daughter or for your whole family then come and visit us at Tokon Martial Arts in Sacramento. Make a better version of yourself with our help
