Samsung verified certain information about the future fitness tracker, including what smartphones it would support, battery capacities, and more, while showcasing the Galaxy Ring earlier this week.

We get a few more details about the Samsung Galaxy Ring via an interview. This includes a useful fact regarding battery life: the larger Galaxy Watch models will feature a battery that can hold up to 21.5 mAh, while the smallest ones will only have a 14.5 mAh battery. Samsung stated that batteries last anywhere from five to nine days in a different interview. In terms of weight, it appears that the greatest size weighs 2.9g and the smallest is 2.3g. In brief, the Oura Ring varies in weight from 4 to 6 grams based on size.

As to Samsung’s explanation, the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Watch may function in tandem, sharing measurements based on their respective strengths. Additionally, the two devices can pool their data to achieve even greater outcomes, which sounds like a really helpful feature. Not having to sacrifice one for the other is also a positive thing, since a smartwatch still offers far more functionality than a smart ring.

However, it appears that you won’t have many choices when it comes to the phone you’ll be partnered with.

Naturally, Galaxy phones are supported, and Samsung is “working on ensuring” that users of Android phones other than Galaxy phones can utilize Galaxy Ring.

It appears that iPhone owners won’t have this choice, though. According to Samsung’s Hon Pak, “we ultimately hope that our devices are of such caliber that people will be willing to switch,” the business hopes that the Ring will be sufficient to persuade customers to transfer.
