A new smartphone has joined Motorola’s lineup of mid-range devices that support styluses. Now officially available in North America, this phone was first leaked back in January.

Together with better software to make using it faster and simpler, it comes with an upgraded stylus with a redesigned design and a wider contact area. The updated user interface (UI) makes it easier to access stylus-related functionalities and reduces latency when taking notes. The instant the stylus is removed, your preferred apps will be visible for selection.

Moto Note has support for optical character recognition (OCR), which allows you to digitize and extract text from written or printed documents for later editing or reuse.

A 6.7-inch 1080×2400 pOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz, and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits is included with the Moto G Stylus 5G (2024). The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm powers it, along with 256GB of extendable storage and 8GB of RAM.

The phone sports three cameras: a 32 MP f/2.4 selfie camera, a 13 MP f/2.2 ultrawide with a 120-degree field of view, and a 50 MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS. Along with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and two stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos, you also get a 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged by both 30W wired and 15W wireless methods.

With dimensions of 162.56 x 74.752 x 8.295 mm, 190g in weight, and Android 14, the Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) is a device. There will be two color options: Scarlet Wave and Caramel Latte.

Starting on May 30, it will be priced at $399.99 and available at Amazon, Best Buy, and Motorla’s own online store. Additionally, it will be available from the beginning from AT&T, Cricket, Boost Infinite, Boost Mobile, Consumer Cellular, UScellular, Spectrum, Xfinity Mobile, Google Fi Wireless, and Optimum Mobile; Straight Talk and Total by Verizon will follow a few weeks later.

Priced at CAD 499.99, the phone will only be offered by Motorola directly at first in Canada. Later on, “select carriers and national retailers” will be able to purchase it.
