According to a recent source from Korea, Apple intends to use a new ultra-thin bezel technology on the next iPhone 16 series in order to optimize the display size.

Apple plans to reduce the bezel at the bottom of the display by utilizing Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology. BRS does this by condensing the internal copper wiring into a smaller unit.

According to reports, Apple intends to include the borderless display technology into all four of the iPhone 16 models, which are scheduled for delivery in the latter part of the current year.

It is rumored that the business had previously tried to integrate the technology inside iPhones, but those efforts were abandoned because of thermal concerns. Recent advancements in heat dissipation technology are purportedly the reason behind Apple’s redoubled efforts to implement BRS.

Low-injection pressure over-molding, or LIPO, was used by Apple last year to lower the bezels on iPhone 15 Pro models, resulting in a smaller display border size of 1.5 millimeters (compared to around 2.2 millimeters on iPhone 14 models).

Aside from that, since the release of the iPhone 12 models in 2020, Apple has not made any notable changes to the sizes of iPhone screens. With the release of the 2024 iPhone 16 range, that will hopefully change. Compared to the existing iPhone 15 Pro models, the iPhone 16 Pro models will feature noticeably larger displays.

Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the sources claim that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a larger display. Apple is probably going to promote the sizes as 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have a 6.27-inch display (159.31 mm), while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.85-inch (174.06 mm) screen.

The iPhone’s body dimensions will expand in tandem with the display size. Both the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will be marginally wider and taller than their predecessors. Apple will have extra interior area for components because of the devices’ bigger form factors. For example, larger, longer-lasting batteries could be added to the iPhone 16 Pro variants.

All of the iPhone 16 rumors that we have already covered
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will be the same size as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus; we do not anticipate any size adjustments. However, Apple is anticipated to also add the larger 6.27- and 6.86-inch display sizes to its two basic iPhone models in 2025, along with the release of the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Plus.
