Apple did not release any new iPads in 2023. This is expected to change, though, as more and more rumors surface about an updated iPad lineup for next year. Reliable source for Apple-related leaks, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, has revealed that the company intends to improve its current iPad models in an attempt to streamline the product lineup and boost sales.

The company offers five iPad models in its current catalog: the iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad 10th generation, iPad 9th generation, and iPad mini. In addition to this selection, customers can expect an overwhelming range of devices such the Apple Pencil, which comes in three different versions.

Gurman stated that the business will probably market the Pro model as a definite improvement over the Air in order to clear up any doubt. To make it the best option, the business is rumored to be releasing Pro variants with an OLED display, an improved design, an M3 CPU, and a redesigned Magic Keyboard.

Furthermore, the Pro versions will have larger screens than the Air ones. The iPad Pro may launch with 11-inch and 13-inch screen sizes, following the MacBook laptops’ lead, while the iPad Air is expected to come in 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch trims. Speaking about Air, to set itself apart from the 10th generation model, the model will come with M2 and two screen options. Gurman stated that there won’t be a simultaneous update for the iPad 10th generation.

In contrast to the previous decade, when there were only two models, Apple gradually added more alternatives over time, starting with the entry-level Air and ending with the top-tier Pro. Since their launch in 2010, iPads have enjoyed a positive response. Apple aimed to appeal to a wide range of consumers with its new offerings. But in the end, the lineup was even more puzzling.

Launch Schedule for iPad 2024 Models

March is probably when the new iPad Pro and iPad Air will be released. The 10th generation iPad and iPad Mini might get updates later. This might be an attempt to lock horns with Chromebooks and keep serving students and the education industry. Also, the iPad Pro was the only device that could receive the Magic Keyboard update.
