With her 2022 album “Midnights,” Taylor Swift won the Grammy for album of the year on Sunday, making history as the singer with the most wins in the prestigious category with four.

Before taking home the prized accolade, Swift was tied for the title with three other Grammy winners—Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon. She won golden gramophones for album of the year for “Fearless” in 2009, “1989” in 2015, and “Folklore” in 2021.

Swift stated, “I would love to tell you that this is the best moment in my life but I feel this happy when I finish a song or when I crack the code to a bridge that I love,” after she was shocked and ecstatically collected the award on Sunday from surprise presenter Celine Dion.

“For me the award is the work. All I want to do is keep being able to do this. I love it so much. It makes me so happy.”

In addition, Swift expressed her gratitude to producer Jack Antonoff, referring to him as a “once in a generation producer” and one of her “best friends.” The two worked together on Swift’s earlier albums, including “Midnights.”

She also gave thanks to artist Lana Del Rey, who worked with Swift on the album’s track “Snow on the Beach.”

“I think she’s a legacy artist, a legend in her prime right now,” Swift said of Del Rey.

With six nominations overall, the “Style” singer is also tied with Barbra Streisand for the most ever received by a female artist in the album of the year category.

Swift’s victory completes an already exciting evening, as she revealed earlier in the ceremony that her eleventh studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” will be released in April.

According to the music charting website at the time, Swift’s album “Midnights” premiered to enormous success in October 2022 when it simultaneously captured all ten top ten places of the Billboard Hot 100 with tunes from the album.

This year, Swift received six Grammy nominations: pop solo performance, pop duo/group performance, album of the year, song of the year, record of the year, and pop vocal album.

She had also won best pop vocal album for “Midnights” earlier in the evening.
