Four-seat convertibles are hard to come by these days. With its CLE, Mercedes-Benz is managing to hold the line. In July 2023, shortly after the CLE coupe’s formal unveiling, the soft-top had its soft debut. The European version’s details were released in February, and the North American model’s details are now available. Starting prices start at $65,500 and include a $1,150 destination fee.

You receive the CLE 300 4Matic Cabriolet in Standard specification in exchange for it. This indicates that there is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine beneath the hood that produces 295 pound-feet of torque and 255 horsepower. You’ll need to pay an additional $75,000 for the CLE 450 4Matic Cabriolet if you want more power. It is powered by MB’s well-known 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, which produces 369 lb-ft of twist and 375 horsepower. A nine-speed automatic transmission with an integrated starter-generator and 48-volt mild hybrid system powers all four wheels with power from both engines. The CLE Cabriolet trim levels’ prices, including the destination fee, are broken down here.

Model Cost (Including $1,150 Destination Fee)

  • CLE 300 4Matic Cabrolet Standard $65,500
  • CLE 300 4Matic Cabriolet Pinnacle $68,100
  • CLE 450 4Matic Cabriolet Standard $75,000
  • CLE 45 4Matic Cabriolet Pinnacle $77,600

It should sound familiar if these trims and powertrains sound familiar. In the US market, the convertible CLE-Class is identical to its hardtop brother, including the electronically limited top speed of 130 mph. With a 4.2-second 0-60 mph pace listed by Mercedes, the CLE 450 reaches its destination the quickest. The sprint is completed in 6.2 seconds by the Standard version.

The basic features of all CLE Cabriolets are the Airscarf and Aircap systems, designed to keep people warm and comfortable when the roof is down. Aircap helps channel air over the open cockpit by using deflectors on the windshield and rear headrests, while Airscarf blows warm air around the necks of front-seat passengers. When exposed to direct sunlight, optional leather seats are given a unique coating that helps keep them cool. Additionally, when traveling at up to 37 mph, the roof can be lifted or dropped in 20 seconds.

Later in the spring, 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolets will be available at dealerships.
