OnePlus has shown its second smartwatch following months of speculation. Later this month, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the OnePlus Watch 2 will make its official debut. Though it hasn’t yet disclosed any important elements regarding the wearable, OnePlus has provided some tantalizing tidbits of information. The firm is well known for slowly releasing information about its devices.

The OnePlus Watch 2 can run for up to 100 hours on a single charge, according to the company’s bold claims. OnePlus claims that this is when “full Smart Mode” is activated as opposed to a battery-saving mode.

The OnePlus Watch 2’s claimed battery life is far longer than that of the majority of popular smartwatches, including the Apple Watch Series 9 (18 hours) and Pixel Watch 2 (24 hours with always-on display activated). Of course, more testing is necessary to determine how well the device performs in real-world scenarios. According to OnePlus President Kinder Liu, the device is intended to “win the title of the Best Flagship Smartwatch of the year with its market-beating battery life.”

The business claims that the wearable mimics the OnePlus 12 series’ design language. Its sapphire crystal watch face and stainless steel chassis are both features. There will be two colorways of the OnePlus Watch 2: radiant steel and black steel.

“Unparalleled reliability for everyday use and meticulous health monitoring” is another of OnePlus’s promises; yet, at this time, it has withheld other important information, such as availability and price. The operating system that the OnePlus Watch 2 will run on is another aspect that the company has not yet verified. According to reports, it will be powered by Wear OS, which could help the smartwatch perform significantly better than its unfavorable predecessor. Liu stated that it took a “three-year hiatus and a reflective pause” between wearables, indicating that the business was aware of the lackluster reception to the OnePlus Watch.
