Maruti Suzuki, the biggest automaker in India, is about to introduce the new Swift. Undoubtedly, this is among the most renowned automobiles in India. It is also one of the few vehicles that changed India’s automotive landscape. Dealerships have been receiving the upcoming 4th generation Swift ahead of its launch. A closer look at the ZXI trim is shown here.

Dealerships Received the Maruti Suzuki Swift ZXI:

The Swift, the most popular hatchback in India, is getting a generational makeover. Maruti Suzuki, now in its third generation, is set to introduce the fourth generation Swift in India on May 12, 2024. Units have been arriving at dealerships ahead of launch. We have discussed base LXi, mid-spec VXi, and VXi (O) trims in other posts.

Thanks to The Car Show and WheelsEscort, we have an in-depth review of the ZXi trim available today. This is the most affordable and well-liked model among customers, sitting one trim below the top-spec ZXi+. ZXi still doesn’t appear to have LED DRLs on the outside. Just a silver component that resembles the DRL in form.

Similar to the current third generation model, rear tail lights appear to be LEDs across the range. Headlights, however, are LEDs with ZXi. ZXi has a number of properties that set it apart from the recently discovered VXi and VXi (O). Among them are 15-inch alloy wheels with a monotone silver finish. They exceed steelies in quality even if they aren’t dual-tone.

The actual wheel design reminds one of the Swift Gen 2. Similar but not the same. The rear washer and wiper are two more noteworthy exterior upgrades over VXi and VXi (O). ZXi has driver-side request sensors and blackened pillars.

Inside Features of Swift ZXI:

For the first time ever, the interior of the new Swift ZXi features rear AC vents. This is a useful inclusion. Rear air conditioning vents are kind of essential, especially given the climate in India. There’s also a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen located in a free-standing element, along with fully automatic climate control.

Additional noteworthy features of the Maruti Suzuki Swift ZXi variant include push-button start, steering-mounted controls, and a semi-digital instrument cluster with a MID. In terms of powertrains, the former 1.2L 4-cylinder K Series engine was replaced with the new Z Series engine, which is 1.2L 3-cylinder.

With its mild hybrid configuration and 80 horsepower and 112 Nm of torque, this engine is capable of up to 25.72 km/l of fuel efficiency. When it launches, the Maruti Suzuki Swift will compete with hatchbacks such as the Citroen C3 and the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS, as well as the Tata Tiago.
