iQOO’s 12 appears to be poised to become India’s first smartphone to include the recently released Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, despite Xiaomi surpassing it in its home market.

The debut date of iQOO 12 5G in India is December 12, 2023. And as was to be predicted, the Vivo spin-off brand iQOO has begun to tease the phone. The most recent information from hype-vine is the formal declaration that, like the majority of iQOO items, iQOO 12 will be available on Amazon India. The e-commerce website now has the notify-me page listing.

iQOO is starting off by showcasing what would be one of the most interesting features of the iQOO 12. The chipset selection. iQOO’s 12 appears to be set to be India’s first smartphone to include the recently released Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, despite Xiaomi surpassing it in its home market. The newest model from Qualcomm promises to be roughly 30% quicker than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from the previous iteration, with 20% faster graphics. So, pretty quick.

Because of their focus on gaming, iQOO phones typically get the most out of their chipsets. As such, the iQOO 12 is expected to compete to be the fastest smartphone on the market when it launches. However, the top iQOO phones of this year, the iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro, also have outstanding photo capability.

A 16-megapixel selfie camera is included.

This year also sees a long overdue redesign of the design. The glass and metal iQOO 12 is offered in three different finish options: white (BMW Motorsport), black, and red. While the pro model chooses for a curved chassis, this variant has a flat design. The latter isn’t heading to India and also receives an IP68 rating. There is no IP rating for the iQOO 12.

The iQOO 12 features an additional 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 2160Hz PWM dimming, 1.5K (2800x1260p) resolution, and a refresh rate of 144Hz.
