Happy National Day, Qatar!

The present Doodle celebrates Qatar’s National Day, a yearly open occasion that celebrates the Arab country’s opportunity and unification.

Represented in the Doodle artwork is Qatar’s maroon and white national flag, which was officially received in 1971, the year the nation pronounced its freedom.

The maroon color–today called “Qatar maroon”– is accepted to go back centuries to the Bronze Age, when early pioneers used neighborhood shellfish to make purple-red color. The particular colorant turned into a well known fare and was utilized in royal garments.

This tone has come to hold extraordinary significance to Qatar’snational identity and today fills in as an image of the nation’s social legacy and history.
