The Basalt Vision small SUV Coupe, which is a part of Citroen’s C-Cubed Program, has been teased for the first time ever. For a few months now, testing has been conducted for the same. The launch date is set for March 27, 2024. Citroen Basalt Vision will stand out among other cars in its price range with its tapering, coupe-style roof.

The length of Citroen Basalt Vision may be approximately 4.3 meters, the same as that of the C3 Aircross. Along with other small SUVs including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, and MG Astor, it will mainly compete with the impending Tata Curvv.

Features of the Citroen Basalt Vision:

In the company’s latest teaser, the rear coupe’s roofline dips. This will be the car’s main selling point and set it apart from competitors. The teaser also boasts LED tail lights, a first for any Citroen C-Cubed car, and shark fin antennae similar to the C3 Aircross. The company stated that it was created specifically to meet the demands and preferences of Indian customers.

Basalt Vision test mules have been observed in complete camouflage with extra layers on the front and back. The majority of the Coupe SUV’s unique features will be found there. Adjustments are anticipated for the front grille, bumper, and fog light housing in comparison to the C3 and C3 Aircross. The LED DRLs and headlights will be shared characteristics.

The test mules demonstrate that the sculpted design of the bonnet and the angle of the A-pillar are identical to those of the C3 and C3 Aircross. The side profile is also much the same. It has flap-style door handles and rearview mirrors with built-in turn signals. There are traces of a coupe-like posture visible in the back.

Citroen Basalt Vision’s interior design will be mostly influenced by the C3 hatch and C3 Aircross. A 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument display, controlled ORVMs, connection features, a 12V plug, automatic air conditioning, engine start/stop, and keyless entry are a few of the expected features.

A sunroof, LED headlights, push-button start, keyless entry, auto-dimming IRVM, and automatic air conditioning are among the features we anticipate seeing on the redesign. In addition to six airbags as standard, safety features will include ESP, hill hold, a tire pressure monitoring system, a rearview camera, parking sensors, and ABS with EBD.

Engine Choices:

The Citroen Basalt Vision is probably going to have the same engine options as the C3 Aircross. The newly introduced Automatique 6-speed torque converter has a higher torque output than the 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine, which produces 110 PS and 190 Nm when operated manually. Whether Citroen will refer to this Coupe SUV as the C3X or Basalt Vision is still up in the air.

That being stated, it will have its debut on March 27, 2024, a few days from now, and it will serve as a showcase for Citroen’s new approach in the Indian market. When compared to eC3’s 0-star rating in GNCAP evaluations, we anticipate the Citroen Basalt Vision offers a better safety kit.
