Google has announced that the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S24 series will soon be able to utilize its new Circle to Search function globally. Users may utilize motions like circling, highlighting, sketching, or tapping to search on their phone from anywhere with this new functionality, which was announced earlier this month.

The new function, according to the internet giant, should make it easier for users to use Google Search whenever a query arises, whether they’re watching a video or glancing at a picture on a social media platform. For instance, you might circle the Korean corn dog and inquire as to why it’s so popular if you’re watching a video of someone eating one.
Not simply circles can be used to activate the feature. Other gestures are also possible. To see more information about a restaurant while conversing with a buddy on a messaging app, just tap on the name of the establishment without leaving the app.

It is also simpler to find up definitions of words or phrases when you use Circle to Search. Let’s say you’re viewing a video of a drink that says “prebiotic,” but you have no idea what that term means or how it differs from “probiotic.” To search for the word in the past, you would have to exit the program you were using and open your browser. You may now highlight “prebiotic” to find out additional information by long-pressing the home button or menu bar to activate Circle to Search. All you have to do to continue watching the video is swipe away when finished.

You won’t have to interrupt what you’re doing to launch a browser search thanks to Circle to Search, which lets you access search from any app. Furthermore, you may now search immediately without stopping what you’re doing if you used to capture screenshots as a reminder to yourself to look up information later.
