This week, Qualcomm, a US-based semiconductor manufacturer, was extremely busy announcing not one, but two new chipsets: the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Both appear to be centered around AI-related features and offer a host of enhancements over the chipsets from the previous generation.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, which is specifically made for high-end mid-range smartphones, offers a 15% increase in CPU speed and a 45% gain in GPU (graphics processing unit) performance over the previous model.

An official announcement regarding the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 platform offers information about the companies that will use it. OnePlus, Sharp, and Realme are the first OEMs to release smartphones using this particular chipset, according to Qualcomm.

The first commercial product using a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is set to launch, despite Qualcomm’s announcement that these will be unveiled in the upcoming months.

The Ace 3V, the first smartphone in the world to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 CPU, was just released by OnePlus in China. The phone is already on sale for as little as CNY 1,999, or roughly $275.

In addition to its potent chipset, the One Ace 3V has a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a dual camera system consisting of an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel primary sensor, and a sizable 5,500 mAh battery that can be charged via SuperVOOC technology. Though it lacks a microSD card port, the phone does have 256 or 512GB of internal capacity.

The OnePlus Nord CE4, an international variant of the phone, is anticipated to launch on April 1st, whereas the OnePlus Ace 3V is only accessible in China.
