In a few weeks, Samsung is expected to unveil its new Galaxy S24 series, and as that day draws near, leaks about the device’s pricing and possible absence of satellite connectivity are surfaced.

This week, there have been two distinct price leaks for the Galaxy S24 series, both of which indicate that Samsung may increase the cost of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The base, 256GB model of the Ultra will set you back €1,449 in Europe, according to GalaxyClub. This is an increase from the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s €1,399 pricing. According to Roland Quandt of WinFuture, the starting price of the Galaxy S24 Ultra in Sweden is 17,990 SEK, while the 512GB model is 19,490 SEK. Although the 256GB variant is currently not listed on Samsung’s website for Sweden, it costs 18,990 SEK, which is marginally cheaper than the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Thus, according on all accounts, it seems that the price of the Galaxy S24 Ultra will increase. It’s unclear, though, if that holds true in the US. With the starting price of $1,199 for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, $1,249 seems like a fair estimate based on these European rates.

Regarding the pricing of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+, there are contradicting claims right now.

According to Quandt, the pricing of the Galaxy S24 in Sweden will be 11,490 SEK, which is also the price of the S23. At 14,490 SEK, Galaxy S24+ would launch, likewise unaltered from the previous generation. However, according to GalaxyClub, the two lower-end models might actually cost less in the remainder of Europe than they did the year before. The Galaxy S24 would now retail for €899 instead of €949. It looks that the S24+ lands for €1,149 instead of €1,199.

GalaxyClub surmises that the Ultra’s pricing hike may be partially attributable to the base model’s increased RAM—12GB instead of 8GB—instead of the device’s increased RAM.

Samsung is reportedly conducting network testing in Korea, and it appears that the Galaxy S24 series will not once more have satellite connectivity, according to ETNews. Since Apple included satellite capability in the iPhone 14 series in 2022, the feature has become a talking point, but Samsung has strangely avoided talking about it up to this point. Samsung stated that it is awaiting technology to be “ready” for the Galaxy S23 series, but it is unclear what exactly the company is awaiting, particularly since its own cellular modems for Exynos chipsets support the technology (EXynos is anticipated to be used in some capacity on the Galaxy S24 series).
