Just over a month and a half after its first sale in China, OnePlus has now formally revealed the price and availability window for its most recent flagship device worldwide. On February 6th, the OnePlus 12 will go on sale in the United States. The base model, which comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, will cost $799.99 (€949 / £849). It is one of three products that OnePlus is releasing today, along with the OnePlus Buds 3 truly wireless earphones and the more affordable OnePlus 12R.

The OnePlus 12 is a phone with blockbuster specs that does a fantastic job of nailing the fundamentals; you can read our entire review of it here. It has an excellent camera, a large screen with a reported peak brightness of 4,500 nits, and a fantastic battery life. The OnePlus 11 lacked wireless charging functionality. Additionally, it had a higher IP rating for water and dust protection.

Other than that, the OnePlus 12 sports many of the features you would anticipate from a 2024 flagship phone. It is based on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and features OnePlus’ exclusive Trinity Engine software in addition to a sizable cooling system based on vapor chambers to wring out every last bit of performance from the CPU. A 5,400mAh battery that can be charged at up to 80W in North America and 100W in Europe is located inside. Additionally, it supports 50W wireless charging using the company’s exclusive AirVOOC protocol. However, Qi2 is not supported here, and typical Qi chargers have a maximum output of only 15W.

The 6.82-inch display on the OnePlus 12 boasts a resolution of 1440p and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Additionally, there is a triple-camera configuration around the back of the phone, comprising a primary 50-megapixel sensor, a 48-megapixel ultrawide, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens with a 3x optical zoom. You may choose between black and green, and both come with five years of security patches and four years of Android upgrades.

Regretfully, the OnePlus 12’s 24GB RAM and 1TB storage variant—which the company had teased for the Chinese market—has not materialized. In the US and EU, the device’s RAM and storage top out at 16GB and 512GB, respectively.

The entry-level OnePlus 12R, which is the first of these R-series phones to be released outside of China and India, is released alongside the flagship 12. The phone’s more reasonable starting price of $499.99 is a reflection of its generally inferior features compared to the OnePlus 12. It still has a flagship Qualcomm processor, but it’s the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from last year instead of the Gen 3 from this year; it has IP64 rather than IP65 dust and water resistance; it has 80W wired fast charging (100W in Europe), but no 50W wireless charging; and it only comes with three years of Android updates and four years of patches.

However, the 12R comes with a 5,500mAh battery, which is marginally larger than the OnePlus 12’s.

Its screen and cameras are, of course, less sophisticated. Its 6.78-inch 1264p 120Hz display is of lower resolution, and its back camera setup consists of a main 50-megapixel and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens in addition to a 2-megapixel macro camera rather than a 3-x telephoto. The OnePlus 12R is available in gray and blue.

The OnePlus Buds 3, a third-generation set of true wireless earphones, are also being released by OnePlus. The earbuds have active noise cancellation built in, and according to OnePlus, they’ll adjust the ANC based on an analysis of the wearer’s ear canal form. When the case is used, the battery life increases to 28 and 44 hours, respectively. The earphones’ ANC is rated for up to 6.5 hours of use when on and 10 hours when off.

The OnePlus Buds 3 also have an IP55 rating for sweat resistance, multipoint support for connecting to several devices at once, and support for the LHDC 5.0 codec for higher-quality Bluetooth streaming, assuming your phone supports it. The earphones will retail for $99.99 when they go on general sale in the US on February 5. They’ll retail for €99 / £99 in Europe and go on sale on February 13.

In the meantime, the US and Europe will begin receiving OnePlus 12 shipments on February 6. While 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage will $899.99 (€1099 / £999), the entry-level 12GB / 256GB variant will retail for $799.99 (€949 / £849). The OnePlus 12R, which isn’t coming out in Europe, is priced at $499.99 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and goes up to $599.99 (€699 / £649) for 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. On February 13th, it will ship to both the US and Europe.
