While making jokes about getting MS Dhoni back into the senior national team, India captain Rohit Sharma disclosed that he can easily convince Dinesh Karthik to take the wicketkeeper position for the upcoming T20 World Cup. A week after the IPL final, on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies, the World Cup will begin. The IPL 2024 has been viewed as a platform audition for the World Cup.

Speaking on the Club Prairie Fire podcast, Rohit praised MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik for their performance in the 2024 Indian Premier League. In typical Rohit style, he joked that it might be difficult convincing Dhoni to take the much-discussed wicketkeeper position. He also mentioned how impressed he was with his old captain’s performance for CSK versus MI, as Chennai defeated Mumbai by 20 runs at Wankhede Stadium.

“With Dinesh in particular, I was really impressed.” The manner in which he performed a few nights ago. Dhoni also arrived to play four balls and contributed twenty runs, which had an important impact. on the end, that determined the outcome of the match, Rohit stated on the podcast.

Rohit Impressed by Dhoni:

This might have been Dhoni’s final competitive cricket match at the famous Wankhede stadium as he continued his relationship with the famous venue. At the Wankhede, Dhoni once again concluded in spectacular fashion by hitting three straight sixes off MI the captain Hardik Pandya in the final over, leading CSK to victory with 206 runs. Along with the fans and experts going crazy, Rohit also smashed a hundred in that same match after his amazing knock.

Karthik’s prospects of making it to the T20 World Cup were confirmed by Rohit, who also knocked out a rather “sick and tired” Dhoni.

“I suppose it will be difficult to get MSD to visit the West Indies. He’s worn out and sick. However, he is visiting the US for a different purpose. He will probably play golf because he enjoys the game. I suppose it will be easy to convince DK,” Rohit remarked.

Rohit and Karthik were joking about on the pitch when his stump-mic comment went viral. Karthik’s excellent performance for RCB impressed him, and he made fun of him for being included in India’s T20 World Cup list.

In an interview, Rohit said that he tried to put pressure on Karthik, who scored a valiant 196 runs off of 23 balls.

“I simply wanted to exert some pressure on him.” In the end, he went and talked following the SRH game, following the match against them. This is my response, I believe, to a captain who asked if I was prepared for the World Cup “Rohit stated.

Karthik has been balancing his role as an RCB franchise cricket player with his commentary responsibilities. He has been in excellent form lately and most recently helped RCB almost defeat the highest-ever IPL total of 287 runs set by SRH with a heroic knock of 83 runs from 35 balls.

Karthik participated in the 2022 T20 World Cup and had a spectacular comeback to the Indian team. He did not, however, participate in the Indian team’s game following their Adelaide loss to Bangladesh.
